The White Willow (Salix Alba) is a fast growing tree which can very easily be planted by pushing a twig
of any thickness into the earth before the summer has not started too long ago. Enough moisture is very essential - especially
during the first months. The Finnish-Dutch sculptor Lucien den Arend has be using live willows as a material to make his living
sculptures professionally since 1972. As an eight year old boy, playing in the wetlands of Holland, he built huts in the same
fashion. Sculptures of willows (Salix Alba) will be the focal point of Salix Alba Org - in particular the willow projects by
the sculptor. By clicking on the image below of the Pieter Janszoon Saenredam
Project, you will enter the sculpture site of the artist. To see more of his environmental willow
projects, visit his environmental sculpture pages.
